The Kanban Management Professional (KMP) designation is achieved through the completion of the 2 classes - Kanban Systems Design (KSD) and Kanban Systems Improvement (KSI). This email is regarding the details of KSI.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Getting Started KMP II^® OR Kanban System Improvement is a highly interactive two-day course accredited by the Lean-Kanban University (LKU) and start implementing & improving Kanban at Project/Program Level. Participants will gain sufficient knowledge about Kanban Implementation & Improvement at their Project/Program environment. Methods and related topics to get started with introducing Kanban in the existing process, and taking that first step to making it successful.

During this two-day interactive and informative course, you will learn the skills to research and improve a Kanban systems and initiate improvements with Kanban and achieve the following Learning Objectives:

1. Understand the basics, motivation, and benefits of evolutionary change.
2. Scale out your system in multiple directions – upstream, downstream, connected to other systems.
3. Learn how to run the Kanban cadences to manage and scale your system across your organization.
4. Understand the sources of delays, variability, and what you can do to effectively manage them.
5. Identify bottlenecks in a workflow and take actions to improve flow and reduce time to deliver or time to discover.
6. Learn how to utilize key metrics such as Lead Time, Run Charts, and Cumulative Flow Diagrams to guide your continuous improvement using evolutionary change.

Throughout the course, students are challenged to think in terms of the Kanban principles to better understand what to do when returning to the workplace.

The KSI course is much more than just a set of slides and an instructor. In this course, students work on real-life cases with other classmates together as a team. This course is made up of discussions and hands-on exercises based upon real-life cases.

PREREQUISITES:

• Prior attendance in the Kanban System Design class is preferred.
