COURSE DESCRIPTON

 

The Kanban Method provides pragmatic, actionable, evidence-based guidance for successful evolutionary change. The application of the Kanban Method is not restricted to software development, but for any kind of knowledge creation work as an alternative path to agility or as the next development step for mature agile teams. It starts with what you do now and pursues evolutionary change while respecting current roles, responsibilities and job titles, and encouraging leadership at all levels. This allows organizations to evolve business processes gradually, define and use relevant metrics to measure progress, and significantly reduce the risks associated with complex change programs.

Kanban Systems Design is a highly interactive two-day course accredited by the Lean Kanban University (LKU). It combines teaching, group discussions and a fully immersive simulation to introduce Agile Lean Pull systems, illustrate how the Kanban Method helps individuals, teams, and organizations to manage and improve the delivery of products and services to their customers. Using Lean and Agile techniques, it provides a practical guidance to stabilize and accelerate the flow of work in your projects and operations.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

 

At the end of the class the participants will:

  • Receive in-depth knowledge about the Kanban Method concepts, principles and practices
  • Acquire skills to ignite the change with the Kanban Method in their organization the next day
  • Learn how to design a Kanban System, including options of board design, visualization, imposing WIP limits, set up and interpretation of indicators like Cumulative Flow Diagram and Control Chart
  • Understand basic concepts of work flow creation, pull systems, and collaborative improvement
